When the provider is Unknown, please add "New Status" to the menu to allow us to enter information.

I use Deliveries to add everything I order online. I set it as Unknown and I set the tracking to link to the order on the website. When I get the tracking number I update the entry. This removes the website. I want you to add a new field where a URL can be stored so we can keep a record of where we ordered. Then an item "Go To Website" on the menu.

I'd like to add +1 to this feature and also suggest how it works:
They appear as a dropdown on the main page, accessible by an "expand" button in the "parent" delivery, and are displayed as an indented list. The parent delivery row could also show the number of deliveries, and how many were delivered so far, next to or above/the ETA (ex: "2/5").
The indented list should display each partial delivery, have its ETA and allow it to be marked as "delivered", resulting in a partially completed delivery.

I apologise if this post sounds demanding, I just work in tech as well and was trying to be thorough for the "ticket", and save some time in UX research :)

It's simple. Edit the the delivery. Copy the tracking code. Open "Add partial delivery" and paste the tracking number and select the carrier. Save the record and you have two carriers on the save delivery.

From time to time I want to do the same - "track" non-shipped deliveries. What I do then:

1. add a delivery

2. set provider to "Unknown"

3. set 0 as tracking no

As soon as the product is shipped, I update the tracking information

If the app would allow me to paste a usps or ups URL instead of the tracking number, that would be really helpful. Ideally, I would paste the url and it would immediately parse the tracking number from the link and that would be pasted in the tracking number field instead.

I would very much like the addition of this feature.

It is especially useful for parcel mail, where the post office in the originating country and the post office in the destination country usually provide different tracking information for the same tracking number.

In fact, sometimes the shipper starts with one tracking number and the shipping company creates a postal ID which is different and used for the local delivery. One company that does this is YANWEN Express in China and I can provide examples. DHL eCommerce also does this.

This is the one reason that I still keep a second tracking app (TrackChecker) which has this feature. I would love to get rid of TrackChecker because I have already purchased a lifetime Pro upgrade for Deliveries, and your app is better in every other way.

I would like a separate notification for when packages are delivered. Some deliveries make many stops with ground shipping, which can be very annoying.

Since the most important thing is when a package is delivered, and not when it is bouncing around the mail system, it would be great to have the option to disable "in transit" notifications, and only receive "delivered" notifications.

Observation:

Whenever I open the map, it zooms to fit all of the reported locations so far. If there has only been one location update, the map will zoom in very close. I then have to zoom out the map to understand how far away my package is.

Suggestion:

If a user could set their home location, the app could instead zoom to fit the delivery locations AND their home location. This would remove the need to zoom out and would simplify the experience.

They seem to only throttle connections via HTTP, not HTTPS. The next update will switch to HTTPS anyways, so it should start working without a delay (for now).

Share button that remembers last action in detailed view

The share function is one of my favorite features, as I can get a barcode of the tracking code. Our post office can read the barcode very quickly. However, it is a bit slow to access the feature for multiple packages as it requires 3 button presses.

My request:

On the detailed view of a package, add a share button next to menu, completed and refresh button. The share button can remember the last action (message, qr-code, barcode) like chrome and firefox do.

Well lets be honest folks, if you are here, its because your prior app wasn't doing it for you any longer.

I too came from Package Buddy - loved the product and it met my needs until it was abandoned.

I'm here now (and have been for four years) because this is the best product I have found to accomplish my tracking needs.

Yes, auto-identification/auto-suggestion of the carrier is not the coding nightmare some of you seem to think it is, but it may not be on the top of oRRs priority list.

I'm know I am US biased, but even internationally, outside of the domestic mail services there are maybe a dozen big name carriers that carry the bulk of the parcels. Start there with parsing tracking id patterns and add additional carriers in batches.

If you knock out the common ones, most peoples normal package carriers will be detected.

As someone who frequently gets packages from UPS Mail innovations, it would be cool if you could set it so if it seems a UPS package says it's transfered to USPS, if switches the shipper to USPS automatically, as when USPS gets it, the updates usually appear much faster when you change the shipper in deliveries to them, as apposed to leaving it as UPS

When tracking packages from China, for example with Cainiao, sometimes the text is in Chinese, sometimes in English. Would it be possible to automatically translate the Chinese to English in these status messages ?

Something of the sort:

If the carrier information is in Chinese:
- Translate it to English (or another language)
- Print the translate message (with an indicator that it was machine translated)

Hi!

I use the Deliveries app to track orders that I am having delivered to me as well as ones that I am picking up myself in-store. If there was a courier I could choose caller "Self Pickup" that would be a huge help. Then I can keep tabs on which orders I am supposed to pickup myself and can enter the date I'm due to pick the order up on in the tracking number field. It would be much more intuitive and meaningful than leaving these entries coded as "Unknown." Thanks so much for any consideration!

When I'm at the post office or similar, I need to tell them my Tracking-ID for them to find the shipment.

It is quite cumbersome to read out all the numbers and characters. Also, the text is quite small.
So, a great addition to the app would be to be able to Generate a bar-code and a QR-code from the tracking-ID.
Either through the three-dots menu or by a dedicated button.
That would bring up a new page with both a bar-code and a QR-code, so that the clerk at the post office simply can scan it, to get the Tracking-ID into his/her terminal.

EDIT: I see from another request that a similar function already is available.
Perhaps a more intuitive way to find it? "Share" is not the most intuitive location. At least not for me. :)
Also, some Tracking-IDs cannot be made into bar-code. Is this due to not only containing numbers?

Having more options to sort and filter our shipments by carrier would be highly beneficial, and it would be significantly better if the user had the ability to create custom labels for shipments i.e. from specific vendors/stores so we can sort through them by this metric as well as by the carrier. Also, the user experience would benefit greatly from the app's ability to automatically detect a carrier when entering a tracking number.

when I automatically send my emails to the email token to have a synchronization for other packages than ebay or amazon the label of this delivery is always similar to:

I came here to request this feature, only to find that it's already been requested. In addition to what's already been said, this feature would also be invaluable for organizing orders that contain multiple items across different categories.

Additionally, I would like the ability to define my own categories (or “tags”, as they should be called if we allow multiple ones per delivery).

I too am someone coming from the amazing and now dead package buddy and cant imagine why any app wouldnt auto detect the carrier if package buddy could do it and it was many years old.
