I understand that there are some providers like UPS in the USA that are blocking api access.
The app currently just takes us to the UPS website when we click the entry in the app.

I cannot find UPS on the phone app, and was only able to add it to the website. After syncing it then showed on the app. After it was on the app I could then find UPS on the dropdown for adding a new entry. However, I still cannot find UPS on the "add partial delivery" option and I assume that is due to the "open browser on click" feature not working with partial deliveries.

Please update widget to show estimated days until arrival if estimated arrival date was manually entered by user

I have some UPS and FedEx packages coming that I've added to Deliveries. Since they are not natively supported anymore, I manually add the estimated arrival date. In the app, looking at the list of deliveries, all the deliveries show "X D" for however many days are left until estimated delivery date, which is great.

Unfortunately, the widget, with my current configuration, shows the shipment name and below it says "Not natively supported". It would be great if the widget could also show the estimated days to arrival if one has been automatically available or manually entered for a shipment.

Also, please add the estimated delivery date to the shipment editing screen so it can be added/changed while editing a shipment. Right now it can only be accessed via the overflow menu and separate menu item.

Some Usability Questions/Suggestions

Amazon order specific:

Some orders are multi-package shipments, and Deliveries shows them in tabs. The tabs are hard to make sense of, and it seems like some of the stuff is funneling to the wrong tabs. In the attachments, I have one Amazon order that is two packages with very different delivery dates, and you can see how stuff comingles and is confusing to read. I'm guessing you're pulling things in by Amazon order number, and these are indeed for the same order number. But, in the interest of getting package tracking updates, it seems it would make sense to separate them into distinct entries in your app. They have two different Amazon tracking numbers.

General tracking suggestion:

I would find the tracking status easier to read through if, once you open a an item, the status updates were in reverse chronological order, with the newest update being at the top of the screen. Otherwise, it takes a lot of scrolling to get to the latest update on things.

Don't allow synchronization to overwrite estimated delivery date

As I can't upvote the previous suggestion, I am making it again. I use the estimated delivery date to mitigate the providers that are not working. Unfortunately, it overwrites my estimated date every time I sync. I understand that others may use it to enter a date before the provider has one. I think the solution is to allow the user to delete the estimated date.

API for Deliveries?

First, let me say I love this app so much. I use it for everything.

One thing that would be great though would be a public API for interacting with it. I have to track more stuff about given shipments than can be just in the app, so I have a spreadsheet which is my primary data source (but doesn't include status of shipments). I wish I could write a script that would just sync my spreadsheet with my Deliveries app. That way I could put new entries from my spreadsheet into Deliveries, as well as mark rows in my spreadsheet complete once a delivery is complete.

A simple REST API would do, like:

/list
/add
/get/<id>
/modify/<id>
/delete/<id>

Most crowd-sourced products will be shipped by ocean vessel before being individually shipped to their final destination. Some of these projects provide the vessel's information to allow eager recipients a way to follow the voyage before they get their final tracking numbers. It would be cool if you could find a reliable vessel tracking website and allow us to track our package on the high seas.

App not redirecting when opening link

I recently got a new phone (Pixel 6 Pro running Android 12) and when I click on a link to UPS/FedEx/USPS for a package, the app used to intercept the link and open it in the app, but that isn't happening.

Is this a setting I need to change or did Android 12 impact this feature?

Could the Deliveries app notify users when an API field (such as expected delivery date) goes blank?

I had a FedEx package that was en route and became delayed. FedEx stopped giving an estimated delivery date but that change was not reflected in the Deliveries app, which kept the cached date. I didn't notice this until too late and missed the package when I went on a trip. Could the app notify users when a field like the delivery date is modified?

Unit symbols for weight should not be pluralized

Only a trivial matter, but unit symbols are never written in plural form, even if the value is greater than 1. Therefore, weight should be written "2.3 kg", and not "2.3 kgs" for example.

Multiple languages

Would it be possible to select one language for the app itself and another for the shipping updates? I like the English version of the app much better than the one in my own language (DK), but I'd still prefer to get shipping updates in my own (or generally the native) language. The machine translations can be somewhat ambiguous at times.

I have a feature request for your excellent app.

Quite often I enter a new Amazon package into the app with the courier's tracking number, not Amazon's order #. I do this because I ask for things to be shipped as quickly as possible. Using the Amazon order # I get too much information about all the other parts of the order that have already shipped or haven't shipped yet.

I know the expected delivery date from Amazon but the courier doesn't provide it with their tracking information. So I end up creating the new Delivery item, save it, then have to find it in the list and open it again to set the estimated delivery date.

Would you consider adding the ability to set the estimated delivery date during the creation of a new Delivery item?

Would it be possible get options on the icons for categories (incoming/outgoing)? The old ones were very easy to quickly tell them apart, but I find these are so similar I have to look closer for the arrow.

Widget touch areas too small

I find the widget touch areas too small when trying to go to the app directly rather than any of the parcels listed.

When I hit the title bar most of the time the widget goes into edit mode and gets moved about knocking any other icons all over the place. Then I remember you have to hit the tiny logo in the left corner and once I get accurate enough the app is launched.

I have no issues with other widgets I use e.g. Play Music. This is on a Pixel 3.

Estimated delivery date is lost after modifying provider

I routinely change to my local provider once a package has landed in my country (eg. from cainaio to local post). However the estimated delivery date is always erased after modifying provider. I have to then dig up the order information and re-enter the date. Is there any way around this?

Primarily due to USPS Informed Delivery, we in the US are alerted to impending deliveries by Tracking ID.

Cross referencing that with the information in Deliveries is difficult due to having to look at Delivery detail before seeing the Tracking ID

Bug: Sorting of the Country Picker happens before translation

Bug: The country picker, when adding or editing a shipment (for example with carrier PostNL), seems to be sorted by the english country names, even when it is displayed in another language (in my case german). This makes finding the correct country difficult. In my case "Deutschland" is between Georgien and Ghana, because in English it would be "Germany"

Fix: The sorting should happen AFTER the translation.

Example Screenshots: 1. "Germany", 2. "Austria", 3. everything mixed up

eBay/Amazon package UX issue: market updates vs shipping updates

(I'm going to use the term "partial" to refer to "partial deliveries," the feature of Deliveries that let's a package have multiple tracking numbers.)

Sometimes, the latest update to an eBay/Amazon purchase tracked in Deliveries comes after the latest update from the logistics provider. This results in the last update shown in widget/frontpage and in package history being the useless update from the marketplace rather than the actually useful last update from the logistics provider .

For example, I order I have an order through eBay that currently shows as "Further tracking information was supplied..." on the eBay partial on 2018-07-18 while the partial for USPS has a last update of 2018-07-10 with a message about the package being processed through some location. The eBay one takes precedence.

Not sure the best way to solve this. I considered maybe a way to disable Amazon and eBay partials, or at least manually disable or ignore partials.

Prevent Unintended Deletions

Just started using the app on a Galaxy S9, moving over from Package Buddy.

I was trying to view one of my packages and must have moved my finger slightly sideways or something, because the package was deleted. There was a message for a fraction of a second telling me about the deletion and giving me an "Undo" option, but it disappeared before I could react.

Since I normally delete my shipping notification emails after entering the numbers into a tracker app, I have no way to recover data that is lost this way.

I'd like to strongly suggest that (1) deletion of a package be made more difficult, perhaps with a confirmation dialog, or (2) the "Undo" function be available for longer - maybe even with a "Recycle Bin"-type feature for undeleting packages any time within a day or so.

Tracking information "at a glance" UI improvement suggestion

Please add an option to see the time of last tracking update AND time tracking information was last refreshed (on the main screen of the application), instead of having only the choice of seeing one or the other. Both items of information are critically important to the end user. I enjoy the fact that you can select a custom theme, (the dark and OLED modes are fantastic) however being able to select a custom accent color and a custom background color would give greater options to the user and make the experience much more enjoyable.

On the home screen, 1 delivery date is visible for each Amazon order, even if multiple packages have multiple delivery dates. It'd be nice to view them separately with individual delivery dates on the home screen and ability to mark completed separately.

I use the Always on display and every time the app is updating I get a notification icon. When I unlock the phone I can see that it's just updating and no new info is there. Pretty annoying, would it be possible to disable this?

Keyboard for carrier

This is really a small change that would make the whole app experience much better. When I am adding a shipment, and I go to set the carrier, I have to tap in the text box to pull up the keyboard.

Because you have such a large selection of carriers, pretty much everyone is going to have to search for theirs. I know this seems like pure laziness, but depending for those of us with large devices, we have to reposition how we hold it just to tap the box, then reposition to type.

On the Android version, when I'm adding a new delivery and click the field to choose the carrier, the list pops up but the search field is not focused, requiring another tap to access the keyboard and start typing the name. When there were just a few shippers, the scrolling list alone was enough, but the list is so long that 9 times out of 10 you need to type the name to get to the one you want. I know it sounds like a little thing, but auto-focusing the field to reveal the keyboard would be a huge time saver.

Some packages are untracked. So it is useful to record the date it is marked as complete, or maybe even calculate the date from adding the entry to the completion date as an estimated delivery time. So that when I encounter the same carrier, I could have a general idea how long the shipping will take. Just a thought. Thanks for considering.

Add feature: Notification only when package has been delivered

It would be very nice if you can limit the Notification to just package delivery. It would be a bonus though to limit the Notifications when it is en route for delivery to your house, then when it is actually delivered.

Shipments across the date line display badly in status list and map

I have a shipment via FedEx from China to California.

When I view the status list for this shipment, I see something like this:

11/17/15

7:15 At local FedEx facility, PACHECO, CA

5:46 In transit, SENNAN-SHI JP

5:43 Departed FedEx location, OAKLAND, CA

5:41 In transit, SENNAN-SHI JP

0:22 International shipment release - Import, OAKLAND, CA

11/16/15

22:16 In transit, NARITA-SHI JP

22:07 Arrived at FedEx location, OAKLAND, CA

5:14 In transit, SHANGHAI CN

...and so on.

It appears that the status list is sorted by the local time of each status, and doesn't take into account the different time zones. In particular, it is unaware of the package crossing the date line. So when the package leaves Japan at 5:46 on the 17th and arrives in Oakland at 22:07 on the 16th, the status messages become interleaved.

The same sort order is used when displaying the map, so this package is shown as having travelled back and forth across the ocean three times!
