When I add a delivery using the web on my PC, the entry does not sync automatically to my phone (Nexus 6P) and start giving me updates. I have to launch the app and sync it manually once. When that is finished, the updates proceed normally. Is it possible to push new entries to my phone so I get updates without having to load the app first?

I could swear that this used to happen automatically. However, since I migrated to a new phone (now an HTC 10 running Android 7/Nougat - my old phone was a Galaxy S5 running 6/Marshmallow), I also have to open the app once to sync the tracking info from the website. Then tracking works as usual.

I tried disabling battery optimizations for Deliveries in case that was affecting things, but it doesn't seem to have made any difference. Anyone have some ideas on what we should try to resolve this?

Edit: for what it's worth, I'm using the google-account sign-in, not a Deliveries account. I'm also using the app's default settings (except for logging in), and I disabled the 'double back to exit' option. I could try making a Deliveries account if that might work better?

I'm pretty sure it works now. This is a pretty old question.

Yes, it's an old question, but it came up in a search as I was about to post the same question myself, because my app isn't syncing new packages when I add them on the web. I have to open up the app and tell it to sync, then it realizes there is a package to be tracked, and seems to work fine.

Just curious if this works for you - what kind of account are you using to sync? Google account or a Deliveries account?

I use my google account. I don't have any active tracking things right now, but I'll keep an eye out for it. I think it was working, but I may be mistaken.

Looks like I found a solution. For anyone else having this problem, I was able to fix this by converting my Google account to a Deliveries account. To do that, go here: https://deliveries.orrs.de/resetpw/. See the developer's post here: https://help.orrs.de/2990/i-cant-sync-with-my-google-account. If you attempt a password reset on your Gmail address it will convert it into a Deliveries account.

Once I did that and changed my app to sync using my Deliveries account instead of my Google account, everything worked great. I added a package on the website, and after a while it synced to my phone. I didn't have to open the app and force a sync for it to notice that a new package had been added!

Hopefully this works for anyone else having the same trouble.

Okay, nevermind my previous post. I thought this was resolved, but I added a new package on the website yesterday, and nearly 24 hours later, it still had not synced the new package to my phone - it didn't show up until I opened the app and initiated a sync. I'm out of ideas.
