What's with the black background?

Why does EVERY theme now have a black background?!  Not sure what update did this, but I don't like it! The Lite theme is ALL black?

I love black/dark.  Hasn't changed, for me.  I run Dark themes where I can and have personally chosen one of the Dark themes, in this APP specifically:  Dark (OLED)

Settings--Design--Theme [many there to select from]

Note:  Tested 'Light' (it iw white and grey for me) and other themes in the APP.  All were different with many being light and bright (not for me).
