bar code scan - how does it work?

I have a contract with DPD and making my own stickers with baŕ code and parcel numbers. How does a bar code scan works? I can't read a code to get tracking number automatically in app.

Please make sure that you have a proper barcode scanner installed on your device, e.g. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.zxing.client.android

If that's the case but your codes cannot be recognized, please send a sample (either photo of the sticker or a PDF that you would normally print) to deliveries@orrs.de so I can check what's wrong.
