no Amazon syncing beyond the most recent update. why?

haven't been getting any syncing until the recent update. then it loaded everything. lots of work to remove. now, nothing since and having to hand add everything. what happened?
related to an answer for:
Amazon sync appears to be broken. No auto entry and no updates to existing orders.
